christmas the most magical time of the year 2021 however is a completely different story when it comes to the holidays even with the current california covid restrictions many holiday events are still taking place one quick note as covid guidelines constantly are changing these events could as well so if you are planning on going to any of these events double check right before you go this is the top christmas things to do in southern california 2021 so these events are in no particular order but we're going to start off by going to buena par california and we're going to go to knott's berry farms

taste of mary farm knottsbury farm is seasonally going to do the taste of mary farm this year in 2020 it's going to operate from november 20th all the way through january 3rd on select days you have to book ahead of time and tickets are 40 per adult and twenty dollars for a child so the taste of knott's berry farm is a family-friendly event it's going to

include walking the grounds it's gonna include some kid-friendly socially distant events themed

characters holiday decor holiday food and drink

choices and of course all the lights so next up on our list we head to riverside california and we head to the historic mission in hotel and spa and they put on an extravagant christmas lights display

each year the mission inn hosts over 500 000 visitors to check out the spectacular lights display the usa today rated it one of the best holiday lights displays in the nation 2020 however there are some limitations there's not going to be food vendors or carriage rides during covid only guests and restaurant patrons are able to enter the hotel grounds you will be able to experience and enjoy the lights from the outside of the resort the mission end is going to run from november 27th all the way

through january 6th so heading east to palm springs california to visit the living zoo's

wild lights so on select nights from november 25th all the way through december 20th you can experience this light spectacular display so wild lights has also been recognized by usa today

as being one of the top five best zoo light experiences the living zoo park in palm

springs offers beautiful life-sized luminescent animal patterns and a wide variety of

other great special effects so next up we head back to the coast to carlsbad california carlsbad head has a couple different things going on for the holidays this year so carlsbad california is home to the

premium outlets a spectacular outdoor shopping center that will be certainly decked out for the holidays with christmas music blaring so a great stroll around if you're

looking to shop for the holidays another holiday feature this year would be to head to legoland in carlsbad california

now legoland is doing the holidays at legoland and it will go on select days

from november all the way through january 10th so basically so holidays that the lego land is going to give you holiday-themed lego decor music shopping and food and socially distanced meet-and-greets

with a variety of different lego characters dressed up in the holiday gear next on our top christmas things to do in california we head to the city of san diego san diego has a wide variety of christmas things going on this year in 2021 so first and foremost let's go to sea world sea world is putting on a christmas event as well it is going to be from all of november all the way through january 4th since sea world is considered a zoo it is able to operate however there will not be as many attractions open and the rides will not be operating sea world has decor lights food items santa and a rudolph the red-nosed

reindeer movie experience another super popular destination in san diego is

the san diego zoo so the san diego zoo.

this year in 2020 will be putting on the jingle bells at san diego zoo this event will take place december 4th through january 3rd on select days in addition to animal viewing at the zoo it will be themed with many holiday decor lights music and food vendors the san diego seaport village will be a great experience for shopping in 2021 holiday decor small boutique shops and a great viewing point for the parade of lights old town san diego is offering bonfire  nights on fridays and saturdays during december 6 to 8 pm kids of all ages can enjoy s'mores and hot chocolate during this event

live music and shopping going across the san diego bay to coronado island the hotel del coronado has an outdoor.

ice skating rink by the sea literally on the beach this event is going to be set up from november 22nd

through january 5th heading north of san diego you have la jolla christmas parade and holiday festival

this event is going to be saturday december 6 1 30 pm enjoy a socially distant christmas parade

and many holiday vendors heading back up to orange county anaheim now normally disneyland resort would be one of the top things on your list for christmas however the parks remain closed downtown disney however and disney california adventure lake buena vista street are now open for shopping and dining so downtown disney will have holiday decor music food and shopping heading to costa mesa

the orange county knights of lights replaces winterfest this year in 2020 it is a drive-through experience beginning december 3rd all the way through january this is a one mile drive through an amazing light display in costa mesa another drive-through christmas lights experience is wonderland

drive-thru which is in woodland hills california this event is going to be from november 30th all the way to december 30th it's going to be 60 to 70 dollars per vehicle if you're looking for snow you need to head up to the san bernardino forest and you can check out the mountain towns christmas this includes lake arrowhead and big bear lake both normally would have a wide variety of christmas activities.

they are still open lake arrowhead has santa's village at the sky park however you need to book

ahead of time there's limited reservations but you can enjoy santa's village which is a popular christmas tourist destination in lake arrowhead just to the east is the famous big bear lake community

big bear lake has just opened up its ski season as well big bear lake does have some restrictions and curfew in place so you want to check those out you want to check out local dining and shopping restrictions as well before you go in addition to all the events there are private neighborhood events all

throughout southern california as well some of the more popular ones christmas tree lane in altadena

candy cane lane and el segundo bain bridge in murrieta temecula sleepy hollow in torrance california and many more.
