ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar to federal capital for an urgent meeting, citing sources ARY News reported on Thursday.

Punjab chief minister will meet Prime Minister Khan in Islamabad this evening to brief him on the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report on gory incident of Sahiwal, according to the sources.

The chief minister will also inform the prime minister about the steps taken by his government in the light of the preliminary JIT report.
According to sources, the two leaders will also discuss decisions for reforms in police department of Punjab.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday promised reforms in Punjab police after the Sahiwal incident and said anyone found guilty will be given an “exemplary punishment.”
In a tweet, the incumbent prime minister said the grief and anger of the people of Pakistan over the Sahiwal incident was understandable and justified.
Four people, including a woman and a teenage girl, were killed in a shady encounter involving the Punjab police’s counter-terrorism department (CTD) on a highway in the Qadirabad area of Sahiwal district at the weekend.
The Sahiwal incident had sent shock waves across the country after one of the surviving children who witnessed the episode refuted the official version of the CTD.
